The lining is finally finished and most of the details have been fitted. The next step is to connect the collection wires to the pick ups under the tender and to start running it in. I think I will leave it in this rather pristine condition for the time being before taking the plunge and weathering.
Welsh Pony and Palmerston go head to head.
They look fantastic. I am jealous that you have the brass chassis for them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments Max. Malcolm Savage was able to supply the etch and essential castings and I sourced the wheels and gearbox. I am writing a full account for the next 5.5mm society magazine. Its a pretty easy chassis to build. On its first test run it shunted for an hour over all the point work on the layout without a single stutter- by far the most reliable loco I have ever owned. The additional pickups on the tender make a massive difference. I think that the etch should be available to any society members.
