Have you ever had that panic half way through a model that you got the scale wrong? After a bit of hunting around I found my box of rather sad unpainted figures. Mrs Roberts confirms that all is well, although leaving the house a lone, with such a large suitcase will get the neighbours talking...
Having only made 4mm scale buildings before, this row of cottages feels really substantial and rather dwarfs the rollings stock; but then again that's what it's like in real life..
I had a similar experience several times on my model, laterly when I placed a 1:55 scale container nrxt to a locomotive I was building, and the locomotive was bigger.
ReplyDeleteFortunately I was able to find some prototype dimensions for a similar railcar online and I wa sin fact spot on. I guess the rolling stock on a railway that carries containers has to be a bit larger in profile than a container itself...
Hi Andy, good to hear of other people working in1:55 scale. Just shows there is no substitute for research when modelling.
