The first layer of the roof over the bay windows has been added today along with the upstairs windows. The bottom edge of the whole row of houses has been trimmed to take into account the slight gradient of the track bed. The line is already climbing as it passes the houses so that it can cling to the rocky promontory on its way to Black Rock Sands.
The line will run on a ledge cut into the rocks above the boats as I have imagined it, hence the need to gain height rapidly. The boats are at the very edge of the current baseboard

  1. This is such a blast from my past. I used to holiday in Wales. We aways stayed at Bryn Mawr, near Maentwrog and always went to either Borth-y-Gest or Black Rock Sands for the beach part of the holidays. I have cine showing us climbing up to the car park from the beach on that tiny steep path. I'm clutching my Aerokits Sea Urchin model boat. I'm about 9 in the film. I am now 64 and I still have the Sea Urchin! Your work is beautiful, BTW.

  2. Thanks for your kind comment, I thinks Borth-y-Gest is such a magical location. My parents took cine of our family on this beach in the early 70's, my earliest holiday memories are of the sea front there and the little newsagents with its jolly awning.
